KIND KIDS CLUB PROMISE
I will be kind to people and pets.
I will use gentle hands and words
I will respect others’ needs
Because…. DIFFERENT IS AWESOME!
Our program works with local schools and other organizations and groups to bring a fun, pet filled way to approach kindness to others.
Any Educational Facility may request specific topics to be switched for another that would benefit their students.
Welcome! What is a Therapy Dog? What is A Service Dog? How do we use Kind Words & Gentle hands with a pet? using them with others is also very important. How can we be a helper to others
”Different Is Awesome!
• Help children understand that everyone has different abilities
• Teach how service dogs help people
• Encourage kindness and inclusion
Every Person Is Different. Every Pet Is Different. November teaches how Different Is Awesome & how we are grateful that each person and pet is different and how even with these differences there are things we all have in common. Different Is Awesome & we should be grateful that everyone and every pet is differen!
“Taking Care Of Me & My Pet - Different Is Awesome!”
This month we will explore what people need to do to take care of themselves and compare it to our pets.
We will learn gentle petting of dogs and being kind and gentle to people - even when they are different from us.
We will ”act out” how a pet shows they are happy, sad, and scared and how kindness to pets and people can be awesome!
It’s a New Year ! Our Therapy Dogs love to read and do math! Let’s set a goal to try to read and include math in our day! We will encourage reading at least 2 books a week and doing simple math in a fun way! (Ex: if you do 10 jumps and the therapy dog does 1, how many did we do all together)
Disability awareness and celebrating differences, utilizing therapy dogs for different purposes.
Sign Language, Visually Impaired, Wheelchair Enabled, and how everyone learns differently. “It’s hard for you to add, it’s hard for someone else to read”. We will use the dogs to show how each struggles with different things just like people do. DIFFERENT IS AWESOME because then each person is good at different things!
Different is awesome.
We will highlight reading as this is Read Across America. We will read a short story to the dogs. We will ask the kids to read a book this month and draw a picture of their favorite part of the book for our therapy dogs (age group determines what we will have then do). Everyone enjoys different types of stories and so do our dogs! This is another way each person and pet are different! DIFFERENT IS AWESOME!
